NEW EVANGELIZATION STUDIES

I am coming soon; hold on …

Rev 3:11

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

JESUS

Rev 3:20

The Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Rev 7:17

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Rev 19:9

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let him who hears say, “Come.” And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price.

The Book of Revelation is the last book of the Bible and the climax of the Biblical narrative. The word “revelation” – in Greek apocalypsis – means “unveiling”. Yet many of us who have tried to read the Book of Revelation find the mysterious and cryptic language difficult to understand.

Exiled on the island of Patmos, the Lord gives to St John a vision of heaven. Although he is in earthly exile, St John experiences the joy of heaven and the presence of Jesus. This course explores the meaning of the signs and symbols in this great vision of the Apostle John.

Is there more to this book than frightening images about the end of time? Is the second coming of Christ an event to be feared? What is the deeper meaning of this final book in Sacred Scripture?

In this course, we move beyond a superficial reading of the book as a chronological timeline of future doom. We look to the Apostle John for guidance, and we read this final book of the Bible together with the early Church Fathers.

This course offers a faithful Catholic exploration of the Book of Revelation, guiding students through its complex symbolism, prophetic visions, and liturgical depth. Grounded in Sacred Scripture as a whole, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the insights of the Church Fathers & St Thomas Aquinas, this course unpacks Saint John’s Apocalypse not as a terrifying roadmap of gloom, but as a profound unveiling of Jesus Christ's ultimate victory. Learn how the heavenly liturgy in Revelation is related to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; discover the unveiled hope, healing, and purpose given for the Church on earth today.

Read the Book of Revelation as a disciple of St John the Apostle. Discover the relationship between the heavenly liturgy in St John’s vision and the Sacrifice of the Mass – and learn how to enter more deeply into the Divine Mystery each Sunday. Find meaning for Christian suffering. Learn about the hope to which we are called. Gain spiritual insight about our life of Christian  discipleship today.

Once you have registered and made your payment you will receive an email on the evening before each lecture/discussion session, with the link for the next day’s session. On the first day of a course, there will be an optional test meeting 15 minutes before the start of the session – for anyone who wishes to practice clicking the link and making sure they can see and hear without any problems. At the time of the session, to “enter the meeting room”, you simply click the link in your email, follow the directions, and you are in! There is no need for any advanced computer or technical skill. Real-time Interactive Participation Once you are in the “meeting room”, you can see and hear everything. We prefer everyone’s web-cam to be turned on, so that we’re all visible to each other, but you can opt to turn off your web-cam if necessary. You can ask questions, contribute to the discussion, and participate just as you would if you were onsite – all from the comfort of your own home. Following each session, notes will be emailed to you. 24-hour email, and access to your tutor by phone or Zoom by appointment. In Case You Miss a Lecture on one of our long courses As with any discipline, a certain time commitment is necessary in order to learn effectively.
